Thanksgiving 2016

Another year is nearly gone, and here we are at the beginning of another holiday season. I would say it has flown by, but we have been so busy this year with several drastic life changes, that it seems like this year has actually lasted three years. It has been a rare occasion that we could just sit down, prop our feet up and relax.

Having recently moved to the farm full time with intentions to build our dream home ourselves, this is the first morning I have actually been able to sit down at the table behind my computer in the 5th wheel to write. The silence, the peace, and tranquility of a rural farm setting in the morning—except for the sounds of roosters altering us to the new day—is hard to beat. That is just one of the many things I have to be thankful for this year.

Never lose sight of…

What exactly is “of?” Well, that’s something different for each of us. Here’s a little recent lessons-learned about mine:

As I sit here waiting for the morning dew to dry, I contemplate the events of the past several days and how God has shown me, in a very abrupt way, never to lose sight of what is important, and how what you truly love is worth any amount of effort.
